KWI has been web-based since Day One. Our system is designed to be accessed remotely from anywhere in the world. KWI technology was not retrofitted for the Internet … it was born on it.
We began serving clients with UNIX operating systems and then went on to partner with Sun Microsystems, the leader in UNIX based technology.
In the early days, clients connected to our system via expensive leased lines. But with the advent of the World Wide Web, web connectivity was a natural for us. The transition was smooth and virtually bug free, because we were already web-enabled. And with our whole system written in Java, we were already browser-based.
Why is this so important to you? The answer is: simplicity. Systems which are not browser based (in other words, just about every other system out there), need special software and infrastructure to connect you with the technology. It's another layer of complexity, potholes and pitfalls.
If you don't have a true web-based solution, you can't take full advantage of SaaS or cloud computing. It just doesn't process as well. For simplicity, speed, reliability and redundancy, nothing performs like KWI Merchandising technology.
