“This can be better.” — KWI, for the last 40 years.
Some companies start with an idea.
Some companies start with an invention.
Some companies start with a shopping experience.
KWI started with a 19 year old kid from NYC standing in a very long checkout line in a United Colors of Benetton store. From that frustrating, inefficient experience, he had an idea—then spent 24 months writing code that would make customer experiences simpler and lines shorter at retail stores. Lots of people told that kid that his solution wouldn’t work and that people wouldn’t buy it. That kid heard them all, then promptly ignored them and gave Benetton the world’s first SaaS solution for retail tech.
We were in the cloud before most people knew it existed, innovating and basing our solution on what today is standard not just in retail, but across the tech industry. And all along the way we weren’t alone. It turns out that all those people that said it was impossible? They were wrong. We were joined by thousands of leaders and organizations—people that saw the potential of what retail tech could be. They joined us on the ride, sharing their ideas, their needs, their insights, and their experience. The result is that 40 years later here we are—continuing to build, innovate, and take steps into the future alongside customers, employees, and partners that have been with us all the way.
It’s been an amazing journey, but our goal hasn’t changed. At heart, we’re still that 19 year old kid walking into a store and saying, “This can be better.”
So if you’ve been with us for 20 years—thank you.
If you’ve been with us for 20 minutes—thank you.
We’re excited about what the future holds, and we’re thankful to get to partner with you.
Here’s to another 40 years.
